THE LITTLE FLY THAT COULD

Have you ever wondered how flies manage to get inside when there is nothing but the slightest opening in your insect net?

No.

Okay, maybe it’s just me but I was sitting down drinking my afternoon coffee pondering this very question.

After much deliberation, the answer struck me. The difficulty the fly has getting through the small opening in my net is probably equivalent to the difficulty I face while walking through a door.

In hindsight, this conclusion seems rather obvious but in the moment I was convinced that bugs must have some syndicate ring with the sole purpose of getting inside your house.

Even though this epiphany didn’t solve my bug issue, this lesson does have some value.

How many times have we meet someone and, after their first impression, assumed the worst? Or how many times, even after getting to know this person, do we still only evaluate their character based solely on our perspective.

I urge everyone to do what I did with the bug and start trying to look at other people from their point of view.
